When looking for a set of true wireless earbuds, you have more choices than ever and many more features to consider. Active noise cancellation (ANC), comfort, secure fit, battery life, sound quality, wireless charging, in-ear sensors and so on. This can be a tough decision even if you're using our guide to the best true wireless earbuds.

Well, your decision has gotten even tougher: the $ 200 Beats Fit Pro, with its unique wing tips and loads of advanced features enabled by Apple's H1 wireless chip, makes a compelling case that you actually do it all can get – without compromise. How good are they? We think they are Beats' best earbuds yet.

These wings

Beats Studio Buds alongside Beats Fit Pro.Beats Studio Buds (left) and Beats Fit Pro. Simon Cohen / Digital Trends

Probably the most unique aspect of the Beats Fit Pro is the wing tips that protrude from the outer surface of the earbuds and curve inward towards your ear. When the earbuds are properly positioned, the tips should anchor just below the arch of your anthelix – a firm, ridged fold of cartilage. Insertion is pretty easy – just slide the earbuds into your ear canal, then twist them back and forth a little. With a little practice you can do it in one go.

When I first saw photos of the Fit Pro, I was skeptical of how convenient these pointy tips would be. Beats isn't the first company to use this design – you can find similar rubber anchors on the Sony WF-SP800N, Jaybird Vista 2, Bose QuietComfort earbuds, and the JBL Reflect Mini NC – but unlike those other earbuds, the Fit Pros wingtip shows are more dramatic in your ears.

If you need prescription glasses or want to wear sunglasses, then you should. The Fit Pro is not in your way.

I didn't have to worry. They are made of super soft silicone rubber. And while I wouldn't go so far as to say that you won't notice them at all, they are very convenient, even for long periods of time. More importantly, they do what they were designed to do: lock the Fit Pro in place so you don't keep pushing it back whenever you try to remove it while running or doing activities.

But what I like most about the wingtips is that they don't bother the glasses at all – unlike the Powerbeats Pro's over-ear hooks. So if you need prescription glasses or want to wear sunglasses for protection, go to the Fit Pro, out of the way.

The design has only one possible downside. The wingtips are nicely integrated into the plastic of the multifunction buttons – so much so that you can't really see where the rubber ends and the plastic begins. However, this means there is no way to replace them if the wing tips are ever damaged or simply wear out with use. You need to buy new earbuds.

The multifunction buttons are super easy to press – almost too easy. Inserting the buds into your ears without accidentally squeezing them can be tricky. However, they reward you with a tactile click that leaves no doubt that you pressed them correctly. There's no way to customize the controls other than the long press action, which can be set using iOS or the Beats app for Android to trigger either ANC mode changes or volume.

Eliminate the noise

Beats Fit Pro.Simon Cohen / Digital Trends

The Beats Fit Pro use the same ANC and transparency system as the AirPods Pro, with similarly impressive results. External noises like the roar of fans or the rumble of traffic are significantly reduced, leaving you with a nice, quiet bed to play your audio on, whether it's music or podcasts. Hell, you can just turn on ANC and use it for some quiet in a noisy home or coffee shop.

From Chick Corea to Megan Thee Stallion or a Brahms concert, the Fit Pro will make everyone happy.

Oddly, while the Fit Pro's transparency mode is way better than the Studio Buds – and slightly as good as the AirPods Pro – the ANC mode isn't quite as good as the Beats Studio Buds, which is frankly a surprise. I attribute it to Fit Pro's slightly larger pressure equalization openings, a feature that increases the overall comfort of wearing ear canal-sealed headphones. In this case, however, those vents seem to let in just a little more sound than they did on the Studio Buds, and I believe that's what degrades the Fit Pro's ANC performance. To be clear, we are not talking about day and night, or even close to such a difference. It's subtle, and you might not even notice it, but hey, you are paying me big bucks to point out this stuff.

Highest sound …

Man wears Beats Fit Pro.Simon Cohen / Digital Trends

The Fit Pro sound really good – better than the Studio Buds, and I think they're better than the AirPods Pro, too. They have a wide soundstage and a defined stereo image that puts them on par with the excellent Jabra Elite 7 Pro. But the real surprise here is the Fit Pro's sound signature.

Despite its workout-friendly design (which screams to be compared to the Powerbeats Pro), the Fit Pro doesn't place special emphasis on the bass. Not that there isn't a lot of bass response – there is – it's just that Beats tamed the lower end of the Fit Pro to be more proportional to the rest of the frequency bands. While they may not offer the pounding rhythm you want for an intense workout, they are much better suited to playing a wide variety of genres.

Fit Pro includes head tracking sensors that allow you to experience Dolby Atmos in a whole new way.

You can create the world's most eclectic playlist, jumping from a jazz master like Chick Corea to Megan Thee Stallion and then to a Brahms concert, and the Fit Pro will happily render them all, with lots of detail and zero harshness in the high frequencies.

I still wish Beats (and Apple) would give us control of the EQ when a little more boom is needed, but it's really hard to complain considering how great the Fit Pro is right out of the box Box sounds.

… and also spatial audio with head tracking

Beats Fit Pro.Simon Cohen / Digital Trends

For Apple – and therefore for Beats – spatial audio is a big deal. The company has done it all with the support of Dolby Atmos Music on the Apple Music streaming service. Any headphone lets you enjoy the 3D aspects of Dolby Atmos, but the Fit Pro includes head tracking sensors that allow you to experience Dolby Atmos in a whole new way. When the feature is on (you can turn it off in the iOS Control Center), Dolby Atmos songs will respond to the orientation of your head. Sounds strange – and takes getting used to. But when you turn your head from side to side it sounds like the song is being played "in front of you," so turning your head to the left balances the chant towards your right ear and vice versa. If you turn your head for more than a few seconds, this position becomes the new front.

It also works with Dolby Atmos, 5.1, and 7.1 movie soundtracks, but in these situations the “front” is always the position of your screen, whether it's an iPhone, iPad, or your TV (Apple TV 4K only ). I'm not sure if head tracking is a big reason to buy the Beats Fit Pro, especially if you're an Android user (only Apple devices currently support head tracking), but it's a fun feature that does Music and movies can do a lot more entertaining.

Call quality

Beats Fit Pro.Simon Cohen / Digital Trends

In all but the loudest environments, the Fit Pro delivers very good call quality. Like most true wireless earbuds, you struggle with loud noise, but when it's relatively quiet your callers will be able to hear you without a problem. They're much better suited for calls than the Studio Buds, which sound a little mushy in comparison.

Beats doesn't include a separate sidetone adjustment so you can hear your own voice clearly, but you can switch to transparency mode before or during a call, which boils down to the same thing. And because the Fit Pro's transparency mode is so good, it helps make these earbuds very capable conversationalists. The fact that you can use both earbuds independently for both calls and music is a bonus.

Battery life

Beats Fit Pro charging case.Simon Cohen / Digital Trends

After a few years of stagnation, Apple has started to improve the listening time you can get on a single charge of its earbuds. The Beats Fit Pro are designed for six hours with the ANC or transparency mode activated, which makes them the longest-lasting ANC earbuds in the Beats or Apple range (the AirPods Pro are 4.5 hours at the end and the Studio Buds are preserved five hours). . Better still, if you turn those modes off, that number jumps to seven hours – not quite the nine hours you get from the Powerbeats Pro, but pretty decent nonetheless.

The charging case, which disappointingly does not support wireless charging (Qi or MagSafe), can increase these numbers to up to 27 or 30 hours. A quick five minute charge gives you an extra hour of playtime.

Our opinion

Contents of the Beats Fit Pro box.Simon Cohen / Digital Trends

The Beats Fit Pro are essentially Apple's AirPods Pro, but with a more secure fit, Android compatibility, slightly better sound, and a lower price point. That makes them almost perfect in our books.

Is there a better alternative?

If you want everything the Apple ecosystem has to offer (head-tracking spatial audio, Find My Network, quick toggling between Apple devices, and hands-free Siri) then no, there aren't any better alternatives at this price point if it is the truth is about wireless earbuds. If you really want / need wireless charging, get ready to pay $ 49 more for it AirPods Pro.

However, if you are less picky about these features, this is the Jabra Elite 7 Pro deserve your full attention. They're just as good or better for ANC, transparency, and sound quality, and many people will find them more convenient, but almost as certain. They also have wireless charging and an incredible amount of customization for EQ, controls, and more. And they are the same price as the Beats Fit Pro.

How long will they last?

It's good that the Fit Pro has a longer battery life than Apple's other earbuds (except for the Powerbeats Pro) as, in our experience, this is the only area that can greatly reduce the life expectancy of the earbuds. Even if they drop 50%, you still get three hours on ANC, which while not great, is still perfectly usable for most situations.

It's harder to tell how much life you're getting out of the flexible wing tips. If those get shredded or torn, it's the earbuds.

Should you buy it?

Yes sir. Despite some missing features like EQ, control adjustments, and wireless charging, that is Beats Fit Pro are an outstanding set of true wireless earbuds.

RHA TrueControl ANC Review: Fit For Every Ear

RHA TrueControl ANC real wireless earbuds

"Great sound and unique shape are held back by a low battery and a high price."

  • Full, rich sound

  • Responsive, customizable controls

  • Ergonomic design

  • Tons of earplugs included

  • Expensive

  • Mediocre call quality

  • Bad battery life

At the top end of the true wireless earbuds category, you can find some standout products like the Sennheiser Momentum 2 True Wireless, the Master and Dynamic MW07 Plus, and the Bose QuietComfort earbuds. If a company wants a seat at this table, it has to bring its A-Game with it.

That's what RHA is aiming for for the new $ 300 TrueControl ANC, a line of noise-canceling earbuds that defy conventional thinking in their shape, touch controls, and charging case. But are these innovations enough to earn our recommendation's TrueControl? Let's look at them.

What's in the box?

RHA TrueControl ANC real wireless earbudsSimon Cohen / Digital Trends

With the exception of a few very small plastic stickers, the packaging of the TrueControl is made from 100% recyclable paper and cardboard, which I think is very commendable.

In the packaging, the TrueControl ANC earphones are already in the charging case, a USB-C charging cable and 10 pairs of earplugs, three of which are made of memory foam and were manufactured by Comply.

design

RHA TrueControl ANC real wireless earbudsSimon Cohen / Digital Trends

Typically, true wireless earbuds are built so that you insert the tip into your ear canal and then twist the earbud back and forth until you find the magical combination of comfort, safety, and sealing. The RHA TrueControl ANC takes a different approach. The earphones are made of a non-slip, matt black plastic and are asymmetrically shaped and contoured so that they can only be inserted directly into the ear.

The touch controls are some of the best I've tried.

Once seated, this shape prevents any twisting or turning. It's a bit of a risky design decision considering how differently everyone's ears are shaped, but RHA believes they were designed to "fit right in the ear". Although they stick out a bit from your ears, they're no bulkier than the Sennheiser and significantly less bulky than the Bose QuietComfort earbuds.

The touch controls also deviate from the norm. They look like physical buttons, but are actually tiny gesture-based touchpads that can be swiped or tapped.

The charging case is identical to the RHA used for the TrueConnect and TrueConnect 2 earbuds – a stunning and unique rotating barrel with a black aluminum frame – but this time with wireless charging. A tiny indicator with three LED battery life indicators on the barrel lights up when you open the case. Unfortunately, the unusual choice of design and materials makes the case large and heavy – it weighs 3.8 ounces with the earbuds, down from just 2 ounces for the Jabra Elite 85t.

The edges of the aluminum frame can scratch other items if you don't know exactly where to stow it. Another unique feature of the case design is that the earbuds are swapped out when you open them with the plastic case facing up (this is the only option if you want them to lie flat on a surface). The left is on the right and vice versa.

If they're new in the box, take a good look at the earbuds and case. It's probably the last time you'll see them without their fingerprints. The slightly rubberized matt plastic is an absolute magnet for fingerprints.

The earbuds are easy to remove and replace and are held in their charging sockets by strong, but not overly strong, magnets.

Comfort and control

RHA TrueControl ANC real wireless earbudsSimon Cohen / Digital Trends

Due to their unusual shape, the TrueControl ANC have a large contact area. This means that they likely feel like they “fill” your ear more than other earbuds like Apple's AirPods Pro, which have a much smaller profile. Once you get used to it, it's surprisingly convenient. It's also very safe, so you no longer have to rely on ear fins or other support structures like those found on the Bose QuietComfort earbuds.

RHA's inclusion of a wide variety of earbud sizes and types is a big reason I was able to find a good fit, and this should be the industry standard. After using the standard silicone earbuds for a few hours, I eventually swapped them out for the largest size of Comply foam tips, which I think offer even more comfort and much better sound quality (more on this below).

I can't tell you with 100% certainty that the TrueControls will suit you, but given the number of tips to choose from, your chances are far better than if RHA had simply offered the same three sizes as the vast majority of real wireless earbuds. Yes, a few extra tips that you probably never will use are a little wasteful, but better than returning the earbuds as you can't get them to fit.

The touch controls are some of the best I've tried, probably because – unlike other so called touch controls – they use a capacitive touch surface rather than a motion sensor to detect when you're using them. Not only does this make it easier for custom typing (since you don't have to worry about how hard you hit them), it also enables TrueControl's swipe-based gestures.

Skipping forward a track will swipe the left earbud forward, and skipping backward will intuitively swipe backward. The volume is adjusted using the same procedure, but using the correct earbud.

Once you find the earplugs that give you a good seal, the TrueControl ANC sounds really great.

Not sure if you like the swipe control method? The RHA app lets you customize them and select swipe or tap gestures for volume, track skipping and ANC mode, as well as the earbud used to perform these tasks.

The infrared wear sensors are also very good at detecting when you've removed an earbud, pausing the music quickly and restarting it when you put the bud back in.

Sound quality

RHA TrueControl ANC real wireless earbudsRHA

Once you find the earplugs that give you a good seal (another reason I love that RHA has so many in it), the TrueControl ANC sounds very good. Using the factory EQ provides a very satisfactory frequency balance with plenty of warm low-end bass, detailed mids, and crisp highs. With the RHA app you can adjust these settings with four additional presets. However, there is no way to create your own settings. This is a surprising omission given that this feature is standard on so many other high-end models (and even some budget-friendly ones). .

Voices, more than music, can be drowned out by vehicles, and TrueControl has practically kept those interruptions at bay.

The stereo imaging is well rendered and I particularly like the resonant and authoritative feel of the bass response. But as good as they sound – and I think most people will enjoy them a lot – I don't think they do as well as some of their direct competitors. The $ 230 Jabra Elite 85t and $ 230 Sony WF-1000XM3 both offer a wider soundstage and overall greater clarity, especially for vocals. To be clear, there isn't much of a difference and you would have to listen to the same tracks over and over and switch between those models to find out the intricacies.

If you're an Android user, you'll also benefit from the aptX Bluetooth codec which, under the right circumstances, offers better audio quality than SBC or AAC, although that difference is negligible when streaming from very high quality sources like Tidal and HiFi.

Noise cancellation

The RHA TrueControl ANC can compensate for external noises very well. One of my favorite torture tests is wandering busy streets listening to podcasts. Voices can be drowned out more easily by overtaking vehicles than by music, and TrueControl has easily kept those interruptions at bay. When seated in an environment with persistent noise like a loud fan or vacuum cleaner, they don't display the amazing silent cone effect that the AirPods Pro offer, but I have yet to come across another set of ANC buds that can. High frequency sounds can still prevail, but low frequencies are canceled very effectively.

Oddly enough, the TrueControl does such a good job of passive noise isolation (especially when it comes with the Comply foam tips) that you might not need an ANC. However, you will feel the need for ambient mode which runs very well. This can be turned on as always, or just briefly selected for Quick Surround mode by tapping and holding the left earbud. You can adjust how much sound gets into the RHA app.

Battery life

RHA TrueControl ANC real wireless earbudsSimon Cohen / Digital Trends

ANC appears to be a serious problem for the battery life of true wireless earbuds. RHA's non-ANC TrueConnect 2 offers excellent playback of 9.5 hours and a total lifespan of 44 hours with the included housing, but the TrueControl barely does what I want for the minimum of endurance with just five hours per charge and a total of 20 hours keep up with the fall. RHA does not say how long they last if you turn ANC off.

For comparison: the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 receives seven hours per charge and a total of 28 hours with the charging case.

In this price range, only the Bose QuietComfort earphones achieve poorer performance with six hours per charge and only 18 hours of total playtime.

A 14 minute quick charge will give you an extra hour of life, which is roughly average.

Call quality

Call quality on the TrueControl ANC is good, but not great. Callers could hear me with acceptable clarity, but background noise – even moderately loud – tended to be annoying. When call quality is paramount, the Bose QuietComfort earbuds are a much better choice.

Oddly enough, I couldn't get the microphones on the TrueControl to work with voice recording apps on iOS or Android.

Our opinion

A solid set of features coupled with great sound quality and good ANC make the RHA TrueControl ANC a great set of noise canceling earbuds, but their unusual shape and high price tag might keep them out of the running for some people.

Is there a better alternative?

Because the TrueControl ANC is priced at $ 300, many of the best noise-canceling models make great alternatives, especially if price, battery life, and call quality are your primary concerns. This includes the $ 230 Jabra Elite 85t$ 230 Sony WF-1000XM3$ 280 Bose QuietComfort earphonesand if you're an iPhone user that's $ 249 AirPods Pro.

How long will they last?

The RHA TrueControl ANC and its charging case are built super solidly and I expect them to last for many years. RHA grants a three-year guarantee on them, which is by far the longest factory guarantee in the industry. With an IPX4 rating for water resistance, they should be able to handle moderate sweat with ease.

Should you buy it?

Yes. While the TrueControl ANC is expensive compared to the competition, it sounds great, offers a very secure and tight fit, and does a good job of canceling noise.

Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 Review: Simple and Honest

Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 review wrist bike

"The $ 60 Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 is great value for money and just the right complexity to keep the casual fitness fan engaged and carried."

  • Comfortable and easy

  • Easy to use

  • Comprehensive list of activities to be followed

  • Good notification support

  • Battery life claims are exaggerated

  • Strap closure is annoying

  • Some tracking inaccuracies

Not everyone cares about high-end activity tracking features on many smartwatches or expensive fitness bands. Some really don't worry about blood oxygen levels, EKG measurements, or even built-in GPS. If you want easy daily activity tracking, you want a simple wearable device for everyday use Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 come inside.

This $ 60 fitness tracker covers all the basics and offers 15 days of battery life. This puts it firmly in the wear and tear and forgetting category. I've been wearing it for over a week now and almost forgot it on my wrist which is good. That's the way it is.

design

The simplicity of the Galaxy Fit 2 starts with its design, but it has both good and bad surprises in store. The first surprise is how bright the 1.1-inch AMOLED color screen is. I could easily leave it on the middle tier without sacrificing daylight viewing, which means it has less of an impact on battery life. The use of a color screen makes the Galaxy Fit 2 far more attractive and interesting than the boring monochrome LCDs of simple Fitbits.

Andy Boxall / Digital Trends

Pick the red ribbon like my test device and it makes a seriously athletic statement. While the strap is comfortable once on, the clasp is very annoying. Samsung made the whole thing more complicated than it needs to be, and it's quite difficult to find and repeat exactly the right fit. I often wear the band loosely when the accuracy of the heart rate monitor isn't that important, and then tighten it when I'm tracking, and the Fit 2's strap made this normally simple procedure quite annoying. Otherwise, it's safe and won't get sweaty.

Andy Boxall / Digital Trends

It is controlled via the touchscreen and a touch-sensitive button below. It's pretty easy to miss the button at first as the thin outline that gives you a clue of where to press disappears in many lighting conditions. The operating system reacts and is logically created. You navigate through the options by swiping and tapping. I didn't have any problems with that.

Andy Boxall / Digital Trends

The design, screen attractiveness, and software make the Galaxy Fit easy to live with when you've stopped swearing by the stupid band.

Activity tracking

The Galaxy Fit continues the simple theme and has a heart rate sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope. However, it is not possible to measure blood oxygen, take an EKG, connect to GPS, or even add altitude data using an altimeter. The altimeter is the only sensor that is really overlooked as the EKG and blood oxygen readings are highly specialized. If you need GPS for accurate run tracking, there are numerous alternatives available.

Andy Boxall / Digital Trends

Instead, the Galaxy Fit 2 monitors your workout, tracks steps, and monitors your sleep when you wear it overnight. A small selection of workouts to be tracked is preinstalled in the customization. However, more can be added if the basic options are not enough. For example, I had to add yoga and stationary cycling. The Galaxy Fit 2 can be worn in the pool to track swimming, counting strokes and measuring distance. It also gives back SWOLF swimming efficiency data after you're done.

Andy Boxall / Digital Trends

Swipe left on the screen to view your steps, heart rate, distance, and sleep data. There are reminders to get up and move around and a reminder to wash your hands too. However, this isn't automatic like the Apple Watch feature, it just suggests that you should wash your hands after a set interval. The Fit 2 also monitors stress levels, but says the feature is for wellness rather than medical use, and I found that this puts me at the higher end of the scale far more often than other wearables I've used recently, including the Honor Watch ES and the Oppo Watch.

Both Samsung Galaxy Wear and the Samsung Health app are required to sync the Galaxy Fit 2 with your phone and are compatible with both Android and iOS. I used them on a Samsung Galaxy Fold. While health is informative – it provides current and historical data, and you can add more metrics like food intake and data from other health devices – it is not very attractive or always logical to navigate.

It's nowhere near as pretty or intuitive as Google Fit, for example, and it's also not as feature-rich. It is a bit unusual that it is not possible to get an instant heart rate reading quickly, even though the last reading taken remains on some watch faces. There are a variety of training plans available, meaning the Galaxy Fit 2 will cover almost any activity of your choice.

Andy Boxall / Digital Trends

In terms of accuracy, I compared the Fit 2 to the Apple Watch Series 6 over a few days and found that the heart rate monitor was in line with the Apple Watch's results, but the calories burned and step count were usually below the Apple Watch's estimate, possibly biased overall results. Most wearables I've compared to the Apple Watch in the past come up with very similar numbers overall, suggesting that the Fit 2's software may need refinement.

Battery life

Samsung makes some big claims about the Galaxy Fit 2's battery life, but there are several caveats hidden in the fine print. What you need to know is to forget about reaching 21 days, and not counting on 15 days, if you want to use most of the band's features.

Andy Boxall / Digital Trends

Sleep tracking is one of the areas you may need to do without in order to maximize battery life, and it's well worth doing. At 21 grams, the tape is certainly light enough not to be bothersome, and when it works, sleep tracking will show different stages of your sleep and duration, and ultimately assign a sleep efficiency score. However, sleep tracking is inconsistent and has repeatedly completely missed my deep sleep phases, rendering all data collected worthless.

Notifications also drain your battery more, but this time it's worth the tradeoff. Despite the small screen size, truncated emails are legible, and WhatsApp messages and Twitter replies even offer quick reply options. How many apps send notifications to the band can be managed in the Galaxy Wear app so you can adjust the number of interruptions. I found the notifications useful, but could be frustrated at times by the slowness of the band to respond when I raised my arm to see them.

Andy Boxall / Digital Trends

Samsung says that in order to achieve a battery life of almost 21 days, you have to do without sleep tracking, a heart rate sensor and automatic workout tracking. It is said to expect around 15 days with average usage. I've used the heart rate monitor, activity reminders, followed regular exercise sessions, and also did some sleep sessions, and it was difficult to get any closer to that number. It loses about 10% of its battery every day without tracking any activities other than sleep.

Price and availability

The Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 costs $ 60 or £ 40 in the UK available now from Amazon and via Samsung's own online shop.

Our opinion

The Galaxy Fit 2 doesn't pretend to be the ideal partner for your marathon endeavors, or it will be there to provide focused data as you battle for Olympic glory. Instead, it covers what most casual trainers want from swimming to biking and horse riding to sailing, being honest about their skills, and having the right complexity to keep you honest in your fitness endeavors.

That general nature and affordability, however, don't forgive the inconsistencies in sleep and exercise tracking, and the very long battery life is only possible if you choose not to use many of the band's features. Other than that, the Galaxy Fit 2 is easy to use and its drawbacks haven't stopped me from wanting to wear it, and that's essential for a fitness band.

Is there a better alternative?

Yes, the fitness band market is huge, so there are plenty of great alternatives. While I think the Galaxy Fit 2 is one of the better models, it has stiff competition. If a Fitbit is more appealing because of the recognizable brand name and established platform, the Inspire 2 is the closest model to the Galaxy Fit 2, but it costs $ 100. Plus, Fitbit has a monthly subscription fee to unlock some of its more advanced features. If you want a Fitbit with GPS, we recommend the Fitbit Charge 4.

If you live outside of the US or like to import, the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is great value at around £ 40, as is the Honor Band 5, which is available for even less money. If you don't need specialized fitness tracking features like GPS and you're not a dedicated athlete, then why spend more than necessary on a simple fitness band?

If you don't mind spending more and want something that looks less like a regular fitness band, there are some smartwatch-like alternatives out there too. The Amazfit GTR 2 is priced at $ 179, looks good, and has plenty of fitness tracking features, while the Honor Watch ES costs 89 pounds sterling or around $ 120 and strikes the middle ground between smartwatch and fitness band.

How long it will take?

Fitness bands last longer than your smartphone or smartwatch, as we do not have such high demands on the software or hardware. The strong strap of the Galaxy Fit 2 can be replaced if it breaks. Everything is waterproof up to 50 meters, making it suitable for swimming or showering.

Apart from any discontinuation of support for Galaxy Fit 2 in the Galaxy Wear or Samsung Health app, this will take well over three years. There is one other thing to think about and that is your continued use. The Galaxy Fit 2 isn't really for the hardcore fitness enthusiast. So expect an upgrade if your own fitness goals and tracking need to change.

Should you buy it?

Yes, provided you just want to cover the basics of activity tracking, it is an easy to use, simple, and attractive fitness band.
